In addition to the
beaches pictured above you'll also find these great places to swim, play,
and relax.
Le Galion Beach, French Side, also known as Coconut
Grove and Baie L'Ebrouchure. The shallows here get really warm and
delightful swimming for families with young children. The Beach Bar is
closed Mondays.
Friar's Bay Beach, French Side. This sheltered cove of
white sand is reached down an uneven bumpy road. Kali's Beach Bar is open
for lunch.
Baie Rouge, French Side. One of a series of long sandy
beaches spread along an area known as the Lowlands. Baie Longue (Long Bay)
and Plum Bay are next door. Refreshments offered from beach shacks.
Simpson Bay Beach, Dutch Side. Stroll, jog, or swim
along this mile long white sandy beach without seeing a soul. No changing
facilities.
Cupecoy Beach, Dutch SIde. Crystal clear water with
medium to strong wave action. Cupecoy is backed by impressive cliffs and
small caves. White powder sand. Tops are optional and you may see some
nude sunbathing.
Little Bay Beach, Dutch Side. Black sand beach
accessed through Bel Air Beach Hotel and Divi Little Bay. Usually calm
water. Jet skiing available.
Maho Beach, Dutch Side. Its location at the end of the
Juliana Airport runway allows you to sunbathe while watching the incoming
jets glide overhead. Not for the feinthearted!
Mullet Bay Beach, Dutch Side. Features a mile long
white sandy beach favored by locals. Access through the Mullet Bay Hotel
which is now closed.
